I went to Sears last night w/ Pike and was looking through the
bra section & Pike started singing “Underwear, underwear everywhere, hiney
pants and great big boobs, great big boooooobs!” and he was touching
everything!  It was hilarious but embarrassing.  He took a whole section of
silky blue underwear off the rack & hung each one back up individually so he
could touch them all.  And then we ran into one of the teachers from his
school- I don’t know if she got to hear the song, though.
And then later he was singing a song from Annie and then asked what an orphan
was.  I said it was someone whose parents were gone or had died & that it was
kind of sad.  He said “Why’s that sad?”  I said “Well, wouldn’t you be sad if
you didn’t have a mom & dad?”  He said “Nah, I’m never sad.  I’m tough.  My dad
always says I’m tough.  And if anything happened to you I’d just put water in
your mouth and feed you healthy food and then you’d be ok.”

Jack was talking about the song “dad won’t let him
play” and it was holiday in cambodia and I was trying to tell him that
it wasn’t a holiday and that you wouldn’t want to live in cambodia and
they don’t have enough food ect and that they were lucky to be born to
parents here and not in cambodia.  Well, Maya said she wasn’t lucky bc
when she was in my belly she wished kristi would be her mom!!  (-Leah)

We were talking about potatoes today. The kids were trying to tell me to
make some kind of potatoes, but of course all they knew was that the
potatoes were brown and cubed. So we’re talking about it and turns out
Collin had hobo dinners in mind and Chloe had Lipton soup potatoes in mind.
So we start talking about hobo dinners and Chloe’s going, “Hobo dinners?
Dinners for hobos? Are we hobos?” and I say, “Chloe, do you even know what
hobos are?” and she says, “Yeah, it’s the people stuck on the side of the
road.”

It was hilarious! But it might just have been the way she said it.. (-Kristi)

I was telling Pike about easter and Jesus and how he died on Friday and came back on Easter and then died again & Pike was wondering why he came back just for a day and then he said “Oh maybe he only works on easter” and that was it. No other explanation would work for him! (-Angi)

Chloe says to Collin, after lunch in Louisville:  ”You’re a good guy,
Collin.  You got us some barf bags!”  (He was very excited about those “free
souveniers”)

Driving in downtown Louisville, past all the Victorians and into a part of
town that looks a little scary.Collin says, “Look at that dump!”

Collin says,(again incredulous – what can I say?  The kid’s going through
that “I know everything” phase)  ”Who wants to live in a pink house?”
referring to a pink Victorian.  After a minute, Chloe says, in a
matter-of-fact voice of reason, as if her brother is the most ignorant being
alive, “I do.”
(You probably had to hear that one!  It was funny.)

I was looking at her smiling and she gave me a hug and said, “You’re not a dream come true mom, but I like ya a lot!”
Cracked me up, I nearly spit hot chocolate all over her:) Apparently
she prefers iced lemon pound cake to her momma!
